Сидеть = to sit

Actually, the verb СИДЕТЬ (to sit) is rather interesting. It's used in many phrasal expressions, like the one in the previous post - сидеть в Интернете (it literally means "to sit in the Internet"). Here are some more:

сиде́ть до́ма - to stay home
сиде́ть без де́нег - to be broke
сиде́ть на дие́те - to be dieting
