Happy birthday, Pushkin!

Hooray! It's Pushkin's birthday today! He was born on June 6th, 1899. Pushkin was the greatest Russian poet. In Russia, anywhere you go, you will see many places named after him, and of course a lot of his monuments. Pushkin street, Pushkin square, Pushkin cinema, even towns! That's because we love him. He is not so famous outside of Russia, and the world knows and reads more of Dostoevsky and Tolstoy, but in Russia - children learn Pushkin's poems by heart at school, and adults love to re-read his novels and stories. He is very Russian. As one literary criticist put it, - "Pushkin is our everything"! I'm going to celebrate his birthday by reading some parts from "Eugeny Onegin".
