ВЫХОДНÓЙ (n, m) [vyhadnói]
The word resembles something, doesn't it? Right, the word ВЫХОД = exit. Why? Because it's the day we go out! =)
Look at the ending of this word. It's a noun, but the ending is like that of an adjective - ÓЙ. In each case form it will have an ending like an adjective - выходной - выходного - выходному, etc. The plural will be ВЫХОДНЫЕ (days off or weekend).
Что вы делаете в выходные? = What do you do on weekends?
